Marlboro Corporate Identity History

A Brief History of Tobacco

When John Rolfe arrived in Jamestown in 1610, he attempted to grow a smokable tobacco leaf from the small-leafed Nicotiana Rustica strain cultivated by the Virginia Indians. By 1612, Rolfe had obtained and grown the seed of a large-leafed Spanish Tobacco, Nicotiana Tabacum, a subtropical plant with a special taste and aroma. The new strain was shipped to England in 1613 and was an instant success. This new harvest of golden-leaf tobacco saved the Jamestown colony by becoming its first exportable commodity.

For a time, tobacco was a medium of exchange for the settlers. Through barter, it was used to pay salaries and secure goods and services. By 1942, tobacco accounted for one-fifth of all American exports. To this day, it is America's seventh largest cash crop with exports contributing billions of dollars to the U.S. balance of trade.

How the Marlboro logo design has stood the test of time

Their logo design works well in various scales, from smaller than a dime to as large as a billboard. Their colors work well in 2 color and in black and white, from pantone to process. The logo design still works well and is immediately recognizable in positive and negative reproductions. The Marlboro logo design is a clever design that works well anywhere.

About this business logo design

Good firms create memorable logo designs which help create trust. When you build trust, you build a great brand. If you can do that, then you will build sales and create customers for life!

In today’s market, a business logo design is necessary in order not to avoid any missed advertising opportunity. A business logo design represents a symbol of identity, a means by which customers can instantly recognize your product or service. A logo design is more memorable than their verbal counterparts. Your company must ensure it is being book marked and remembered rather than lost and forgotten. Business logo design is one of the most basic yet most important and most successful tools in identity awareness.

First impressions last

When meeting someone new, the first few seconds are all important in our assessment of their credibility. Brash, over-confident people often turn out to be self-absorbed and unreal. Timid souls, lacking in confidence can be tiresome and boring. Either way, we soon lose interest and move on. Equally, we are attracted to people who have a distinctive style and healthy posture. The same is true of logo designs. Our mission is to attract and create a lasting impression in the minds of your customers. We do this by designing clear and clean, eye-catching logos that genuinely symbolize our client's core activities and reflect their aspirations.

So what are company logo designs and why are they important to you? A company logo design makes selling easier! Plain and simple. Is it any wonder why McDonald's is a multibillion-dollar enterprise? Look at the best company logos on the Internet: Yahoo, eBay and Amazon. What do they all have in common? People trust them!
